High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said EU is concerned about Turkey’s armed forces actions in Northern Syria where Ankara is conducting the Operation Olive Branch against Kurdish forces.
The politician stressed that all the military actions must be conducted against terrorist organizations included in the UN’s list. She also stressed that opening of ‘new fronts’ is not the way to solve the problem in Syria and make Turkey more safe. Mogherini added that the real security can be achieved only via political resolve and dialogue.
The European politician said Ankara and Brussels have some disagreements in same areas but an fruitful dialogue between them is extremely needed.
