The Oil Production in Syria Increases 8 Times Since the Beginning of the Year

The oil production in Syria has increased from 2 thousand barrels to 16 thousand barrels per day since the beginning of 2017 year. Gas production increased from 6,5 to 13,5 million cubic metres, said Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem.

“In the beginning of this year our production didn’t exceed 6,5 million cubic metres of gas and only 2 thousand barrels of oil. Phosphate mines went down. Today, on the contrary, the country’s production has exceeded 13,5 million cubic metres of gas and reached about 16 thousand barrels of oil per day. It’s expected that the phosphate average production would be about 1 million tons till the end of the year”, the Minister added.
