Egypt agrees to observe the peace talks on the Syrian crisis settlement in Astana at the end of October in case the state receives an invitation to the meeting, said Akhmed Abu Zeid, official representative of Foreign Minister of Syria.
“We did not receive an invitation. When it comes, of course, we will take part in the meeting,” Russian mass media sources cite the representatives of Egyptian MFA.
As previously reported, Alexander Lavrentyev, special envoy of Russian President on Syrian crisis settlement had said that potentially among three states observing Astana process might be China, UAE, Egypt, Iraq and Lebanon.
The sources said that Cairo received an invitation.
The 7th meeting within the frameworks of Astana process on Syrian crisis settlement will take place on October 30-31.
