Lavrov: Moscow, Riyadh Agree That Fighting Terrorism Should Be Priority in Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud agree during a meeting that fighting terrorism shoud be priority in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister also said that the Saudi King has positively assessed Russia’s efforts on resolution in Syria. Russia also supports Riyadh’s efforts to unify Syrian opposition, Lavrov said.

Moreover, Russia and Saudi Arabia signed 14 documents following Moscow talks between President Vladimir Putin and King Salman Ben Abdul Aziz Al Saud on Thursday.

In particular, the governments of the two states signed an agreement on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, as well as a “road map” of trade, economic and scientific cooperation and a program for the implementation of cooperation in the field of the use of nuclear energy.
